Sale of FibreNest by Persimmon Plc
Persimmon Plc announced the sale of FibreNest to BUUK Infrastructure, subject to regulatory clearance. The discounted total enterprise value of the transaction is approximately £100 million, with £70 million paid upon completion and the remaining balance contingent on future business performance. Persimmon intends to use the proceeds from this non-core divestment to fuel its growth strategy outlined in March 2025 and to avoid the significant capital expenditure that maintaining and expanding FibreNest would have required. Completion is expected within three months, pending all necessary approvals.
Dean Finch, Group Chief Executive of Persimmon, commented:
“The sale will provide greater choice to FibreNest customers and allows Persimmon to invest further in our growth strategy. By partnering with BUUK we have been careful to select a well-respected operator that is committed to excellent service.”
About FibreNest
Founded in 2018 as Persimmon Group’s dedicated FTTP broadband arm, FibreNest delivers 100 % full-fibre-to-the-property (FTTP) connections directly into new homes across England, Wales, and Scotland from day one of occupation. Its network guarantees gigabit-capable speeds with no shared copper segments and industry-leading service-level promises, such as minimum in-home WiFi speeds (or a £100 credit if unmet).
About BUUK Infrastructure
BUUK Infrastructure is the UK’s leading independent provider of last-mile multi-utility networks—spanning gas, electricity, water, wastewater, heat, and full-fibre broadband. Moody’s-rated with over 30 years’ experience, BUUK owns and operates networks serving over 2 million homes via approximately 2,000 employees dedicated to design, construction, and long-term operation.
About OFNL
Open Fibre Networks Limited (OFNL) pioneered open-access, gigabit-capable FTTP networks on new-build residential and commercial developments in mainland Britain. OFNL’s fully fibre-optic infrastructure supports up to 18 residential and over 80 business Internet Service Providers, ensuring choice, competitive pricing, and future-proof speeds for homes, schools, community centres, and enterprises from day one.
What This Means for Customers
Existing FibreNest subscribers will experience a seamless transition: contracts, pricing, and support channels remain unchanged through completion. Under OFNL’s open-access model, customers gain access to up to 18 ISPs—broadening package options, pricing flexibility, and customer choice. BUUK’s proven track record in multi-utility network management also brings enhanced customer support, 24/7 monitoring, and timely incident response to the FibreNest footprint.

Strategic Impact and Next Steps
This acquisition deepens BUUK’s foothold in the new-build broadband market and accelerates OFNL’s network roll-out by integrating FibreNest’s existing assets and subscriber base. Persimmon sharpens its focus on core homebuilding activities, while FibreNest customers can look forward to enriched choices, competitive pricing, and continued investment in network performance.
