Open Fibre Networks Limited (OFNL) operates an open-access full-fibre network. Openreach also operates a full-fibre network, alongside older connections. To use an OFNL connection, choose a retail provider available on that network at your address.

How OFNL works

We compare publicly available residential OFNL tariffs we can collect from providers. Prices and package counts are shown with their latest data date. Some offers may be address-specific or unavailable from public sources. Confirm your exact address and final terms with the provider.

Our coverage and methodology

It depends on the tariff. We distinguish published price-rise schedules, explicit fixed-price promises and policies where future prices are unconfirmed. The deal details show the source and checked date where available. Confirm the provider's pre-contract summary before ordering.

OFNL Compare is free to use. We may earn commission when you order through a link. Providers may pay for clearly labelled sponsored placements. Commission does not alter the calculated cost or value score. Provider rankings use published review ratings, not payment.

How we are funded

Choose a speed for the activities happening at the same time. Browsing uses less bandwidth than multiple video streams or large downloads. Our household speed helper is an estimate, not a measured requirement or speed guarantee. Check each streaming service's recommendation and allow capacity for other users.

Upload speed affects video calls, cloud backups, sharing large files and live streaming. Compare the advertised upload as well as download speed. Gaming responsiveness also depends on latency and your home connection, not just headline Mbps.

Some providers offer social tariffs with eligibility conditions, such as receiving specified benefits. These are excluded from standard deal rankings by default and labelled when included. Use the social-tariff filter, then check the provider's eligibility rules and application process.

Ofcom's social tariff guidance

Providers share the local OFNL fibre network, but backhaul, routers, support, price policies and service features can differ. Our best-value score compares cost and speed; published Trustpilot ratings reflect broader customer feedback and are not a test of OFNL connection performance.

Persimmon completed the sale of FibreNest to BUUK Infrastructure on 5 August 2025. Ownership changes do not by themselves establish when alternative services are available at your home. Check current migration information and provider availability for your exact address.

FibreNest and OFNL: what to check

Internet-delivered TV can work without an aerial when your device and chosen service support it. Check device compatibility, subscriptions, broadband speed and TV Licence requirements. The number and quality of simultaneous streams depend on the package and home network.
